Nordturn is Climate Ready
During the spring and summer of 2023, Nordturn has been working on the Klimaklar Produktionsvirksomhed course. The process is a collaboration between Dansk Industri and Industriens Fond, which will equip Danish production companies to become “climate ready” by 2026.
A Competivite Company
One of Nordturn’s visions is, and has always been, to be competitive. We have always wanted to be at the forefront and have had tailwinds in our sails since our foundation in 2011. Now we are writing 2023 and today it is more important than ever to be competitive on several different parameters.
Including green transition.
The climate talk can be difficult to get started on, because what exactly are Co2 equivalents, what does scope 1, 2 and 3 mean, how do you calculate your Co2e footprint and what should we use it for?
Klimaklar Produktionsvirksomhed
For us, those terms were also foreign, so we chose to sign up for Klimaklar Produktionsvirksomhed. A course tailored to small and medium sized production companies. During the course, we have been working with a learning platform with several different modules that have been put together so that you can get started with absolutely no knowledge. With modules in data collection, the climate compass, communication and much more, Klimaklar Produktionsversomingde has managed to create a comprehensive course that makes it possible for virtually everyone to understand climate and green accounting.
Together with the learning platform, we have been working with with an advisor/supervisor, who in our case came from Viegand Maagøe – here we have received advice, which has helped with the broader understanding of green accounting.
With Klimaklar Produktionsvirksomhed, we have been able to get started properly with the climate accounting and found out how to find data from purchases, sales and consumption, which all has something to say about our combined Co2e footprint.

There has been help for every problem and advice that made sense. We have now produced our first climate report, and tjat is a victory, but there is still much work to be done."
Nordturn is Climate Ready
This is not to say that we are finished – because we are far from it. However, we are now climate ready, we are ready to continue the task and take more responsibility when it comes to our consumption and production. We are ready to go more in-depth with our climate accounting, we are ready to answer questions about our Co2 and we are ready to meet our customers’ demands.
And exactly meeting our customers’ demands has been a big source of our desire to get started and get ready. We already experienced inquiries from customers about Co2e information shortly before we started the course. Klimaklar Produktionsvirksomhed has made it possible for us to now be in dialogue with and in the process of calculations that will very specifically tell our customers about the Co2e footprint our production has on exactly the items we produce for the individual customer.
It has of course been a big mouthful at times, especially when the project has been such an unfamiliar task for everyone in the company, but we have definitely only gotten positive results from the process, and look forward to continuing to work with climate, green conversion and even more data collection.
